Bikaner (Rajasthan), May 22: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday lauded the Indian Armed Forces for the success of Operation Sindoor. He said that the Indian forces brought Pakistan to its knees. The Prime Minister further stated that in response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, the Indian forces destroyed terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK) in 22 minutes.
While attending a public gathering in Rajasthan's Bikaner, PM Modi said, "Our govt gave free hand to all three armed forces, together they created such a trap that Pakistan was forced to go down on its knees."
“22 tareekh ke hamle ke jawab mein, humne 22 minutes mein aatankiyon ke 9 sabse bade thikane tabaah kar diye... Duniya aur desh ke dushmanon ne dekh liya ki jab sindoor Barood ban jata hai to kya nateeja hota hai (In response to the April 22 attack, we destroyed nine terror camps in 22 minutes. Enemies of the country have seen the result of what can happen when ‘sindoor’ becomes explosive),” the Prime Minister stated.
PM Modi further said that Operation Sindoor is the new identity of India.
"This is not a game of show and revenge; this is a new form of justice. Operation Sindoor is not merely an expression of anger, it is the fierce and resolute face of a strong and capable India. This is the new identity of Bharat," he stated.
In a big message to Pakistan, PM Modi said that Pakistan Army and its economy will have to pay heavy price for every terrorist attack. The Prime minister also stated that Pakistan will not get water that rightfully belongs to India and it will have to pay heavy price for playing with blood of Indians.
PM Modi also made it clear that there would be not talks with Pakistan until the Kashmir issue is resolved. “There will be neither trade nor talks with Pakistan; if talks, then only about Pakistan occupied Kashmir,” the Prime Minister said.
Operation Sindoor:
On April 22, five to six Pakistan-backed terrorists opened fire on people enjoying their vacations at Baisaran meadow near Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam, killing 26 people. As per eyewitnesses, the terrorists singled out non-Muslims and shot them dead. One local pony guide also died in the attack.
Initially, Pakistan-based terror organisation Lashkar-e-Taiba's (LeT) offshoot, The Resistance Front (TRF), claimed responsibility. However, it denied its role days later.
On the intervening night of May 6 and 7, the Indian Armed Forces launched Operation Sindoor and targeted nine terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir to avenge the terror attack. In response, Pakistan tried to attack Indian civilian and military installations. However, India's air defence thwarted the attack. On the intervening night of May 9 and 10, India hit 11 Pakistani air bases.
Pakistan's Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) on May 10 contacted his Indian counterpart and requested a ceasefire.
