Waves 2025 is currently going on in Mumbai, and many celebs from across the globe are attending it. On Friday, there was a panel discussion that happened at the event, which was attended by Anupam Kher, Nagarjuna, Karthi, and Kushboo Sundar. It was about 'Pan-India Cinema: Myth Or Momentum?'. During the interaction, the moderator asked the actors about why they think a Telugu film like Pushpa (franchise) did better in Hindi than in its original language.
While talking about it, Karthi said, "Allu Arjun didn't get success overnight. People have watched Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo umpteen number of times during Covid. So, he is already a familiar face; his dance is already famous. When you talk about success, it didn't happen overnight; it has been waiting to happen for the last 10 years. So, there has been a huge following for South films."

The Sardar actor added, "We were shooting in Satara, and they knew all the Telugu stars because it is just across the border. They didn't know Tamil stars, but they knew Telugu stars. They have been watching the dubbed versions in theatres. So, the market was already there, but untapped, and now, when you have tapped it, it is opening up big time. Look at the views of all the dubbed movies of South films on YouTube. So, there has been a fan following for a long time."
Pushpa 2 Box Office Collection
Allu Arjun's Pushpa 2, which was released in December last year, collected Rs. 1234 crore (all languages) at the box office. Well, the Hindi version has minted Rs. 812 crore, and the original Telugu version collected Rs. 341 crore. So, yes, in Hindi, the collection was much higher than in Telugu.
Karthi Upcoming Movies
Meanwhile, Karthi, who is a well-known face in the Tamil film industry, has some interesting movies lined up. He will be seen in Sardar 2 and Hit 4. The latter was announced at the climax of the recently released film Hit 3, in which Karthi had a cameo.
