Actor Sudhanshu Pandey, who became a household name with his villainous role of Vanraj Shah in the popular daily soap, Anupamaa, has quit the show, and his character has been absent from the storyline for quite some time now. And if reports are to be believed, the makers seem to have finally found his replacement, and it is none other than actor Ronit Roy.
According to several media reports, Ronit Roy will soon be seen making a grand entry in Anupamaa as Vanraj Shah, or as the lead character calls him -- 'Mr Shah'. As per the current track, Anupamaa, played by Rupali Ganguly, is struggling and working hard to start her life afresh in the bustling city of Mumbai, by putting her cooking and dancing talent to use.
Sudhanshu had quit Anupamaa before the generation leap, and so did many other characters, and post the leap, the show, which once ruled TRP charts, saw a major dip in numbers. The makers have thus decided to introduce some new twists and turns in the story, and bring back some of the iconic characters from the show back.
Neither Ronit nor the makers of Anupamaa have reacted to the reports yet.
A few days ago, reports that Gaurav Khanna, who played everyone's favourite Anuj Kapadia, is set to return in Anupamaa had surfaced online as well, but no clarification has been issued about that as of yet. While Gaurav's character did not have a definite end in the show, he had just walked out of the house and vanished, and was absent from the show throughout the post-leap segment.
However, Gaurav had said in an interview that there was no full stop to his character in Anupamaa, and that it was only a "comma" for now, hinting that he might return to the show when the time is right.
Meanwhile, Rupali continues to play the lead, Anupamaa. The daily soap, which premiered on July 13, 2020, clocked five years recently, and over these years, it managed to cement its place in the Top 3 positions on the TRP chart.
