Yami Gautam and Aditya Dhar never fail to shell out couple goals. Even though both of them enjoy a very private life away from the limelight when not working, they make sure to appreciate each other through social media posts and media interactions every now and then. Recently, Yami praised husband Aditya and called him her biggest cheerleader in an exclusive interview with The Free Press Journal.
When asked about what love feels like to her, Yami said, "We don't analyze anything. We just love and respect each other for who we are. And when someone asks me what love is, I don't know how to define it. It's a very complex emotion that you feel, and I think one of the most important elements is respect. Aditya respects me a lot, and I respect him too. I've seen how he carries himself, how he conducts himself as a person and as a director, from the days of Uri till now. His process, his approach, and the way he treats everybody is genuine, not just for the camera, but also behind the camera he is the same person. And that reflects in his work as well."
She added, "We've been married for four years now, and I didn't even realize it until someone pointed it out. I think that's because we don't talk about it; we're just so comfortable with each other that there's no need to underline anything. Silence is also comfortable. Even if he's in the same room, watching cricket and I am doing something else, that's absolutely okay. It's the comfort in silence that makes you feel at ease.Stability is important. But what matters most is having someone in your life who can listen to you, even when there's no solution to your problems. Sometimes, just having someone to talk to is a blessing, and I feel grateful to have a partner like that."
Yami further stated Aditya is there for her all the time. "He is my biggest cheerleader. I know how happy Aditya gets when something good happens for me. I may not always realize it, but he makes me realize that he is happier for me than I am for myself. It's not about the big gestures, like 'you got me this or I got you that'. It's about the small things, the small gestures, and the details. It's about the way he looks at me, the expression in his eyes that says 'I'm here for you, and you're here for me, no matter what'," she said.
The actress concluded by saying, "Nothing can come between us, not even if we disagree on something important. Our love and respect for each other will never be affected, and we will never consider not being together as an option. That's the most comforting element of our relationship - knowing that no matter what, we will always be together. Being apart is not an option, and that gives me a sense of security and comfort."
For the unversed, Yami Gautam and Aditya Dhar tied the knot in 2021 and welcomed their son Vedavid in May 2024.
