Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma found himself at the receiving end of severe backlash on Tuesday night after he shared actress Kiara Advani's viral bikini shots from the teaser of War 2 along with downright crass and objectionable captions on social media. As fans lashed out at him, he slyly deleted the posts in the wee hours of Wednesday.
It all began after the teaser of War 2, starring Hrithik Roshan, Jr NTR and Kiara, was unveiled by the makers on Tuesday on the occasion of Jr NTR's birthday. While the teaser majorly highlighted the face off between Hrithik and Jr NTR's characters, Kiara stole the limelight with her bikini shots despite it being a blink-and-miss appearance.
The scene showed the actress walking along a pool wearing a skimpy bikini and flaunting her toned figure, and within no time, it was splashed all over the internet. Ram Gopal Varma too seemed to have taken notice, but he decided to share it with rather obscene comments, inviting the wrath of netizens.
"Ram Gopal Varma has lost it!! (sic)," a netizen commented, while another called him a "tharki buddha". "This is what he is uttering publicly... Can you imagine what he is like in private? (sic)," another netizen pointed out.
Netizens, especially fans of Kiara, flooded the comments section under his post with criticism, and in the middle of the night, Varma deleted the posts without making a noise.
Meanwhile, after basking in all the praise, Kiara took to her Instagram handle on Tuesday to pen a sweet note for War 2. "Lots of firsts in this. First YRF film, first action film, first with these 2 amazing heroes, first collaboration with Ayan, and of course, first bikini shot! (sic)," she wrote.
War 2 is all set to hit the silver screens on Independence Day this year. A sequel to the 2019 blockbuster War, the upcoming film has been directed by Ayan Mukerji.
