At the trailer launch of Fateh in Mumbai, Sonu Sood revealed what aspired him to direct this sleek-looking and stylish action entertainer.

"In our Bollywood films, we use a lot of action, but without much concrete script or a definite flow to it. I wanted to make a film where action is determined by the weapons employed. So, if your gun is not loaded, you use the empty gun, a plate, a kettle, hot-water, whatever you find around you, as a weapon and that needs to be choreographed to perfection. My son wanted the action to be uninterrupted, free-flowing and organic. It was his idea that I implemented in the film."

"Why India can't make a film of the international stature is the question or an argument that's been asked or discussed, but Fateh will rest the case I am sure. This film is special because this film has been made keeping in mind that we were creating something of an international stature and standard," added Sood.

Sonu revealed that Naseeruddin Shah was cast in Fateh after the film had already been shot. Quite interestingly and almost shockingly, Naseeruddin Shah was approached by Sonu Sood after the film was shot. "I wanted Naseeruddin Shah's voice for a narration, but when I met him, I felt that he should have been a part of the film. Naseer saab asked me if he could be a part of this seemingly interesting film, and I said, 'Sir, isi ke liye aaya hoon. I just need you for one day,'" recounts Sonu.

"Naseer sir quizzed me on how I would place him in the film now (that it was complete and had already been shot.) I went back to my script and placed Naseer Bhai's character scene-by-scene, for which I requested his presence for just one day, and it worked out really well," Sonu shared.

The actor further said that action In Animal and Kabir Singh was appreciated by audience. "Audience loves action, hands down! Be it Animal or Kabir Singh, the violence in it entertained the audience. You have to justify that kind of action by showing a bad guys pays the price ultimately for their actions," added Sood.
