Sky Force starring Akshay Kumar, Veer Pahariya, Sara Ali Khan and Nimrat Kaur was expected to take good start at the box office, and that surely happened on day 1 with a double digit number. However, what has surprised one and all is the money that the movie has minted on day 2 and day 3. The film showed a fantastic jump over the weekend.
According to Sacnilk, on Day 1, the film collected Rs. 12.25 crore which was surely a good opening. But, thanks to mostly positive reviews and very good word of mouth, Sky Force showed a phenomenal growth on day 2 and collected Rs. 22 crore. While it was expected that the movie will jump at the box office during the weekend, but this kind of a jump was not expected.
On day 3, Sky Force showed a growth once again at the box office and approx. collected Rs. 27.50 crore, taking the three-day total to Rs. 61.75 crore which is quite good. After Sooryavanshi, none of the films of Akshay have received such an amazing response during the first weekend.
Now, all eyes are on Monday. If the day 4 collection is also in double digit, then we can expect the movie to have a break even at the box office. Reportedly, Sky Force is made on a budget of Rs. 160 crore, so the film needs to be stable at the box office on weekdays, and also continue to to do well in the coming weeks as well.
However, this Friday, Shahid Kapoor starrer Deva is slated to release, and even in the coming weeks mostly there's a release every Friday. So, Sky Force needs to hold well. However, if today (Monday), the movie drops drastically, then it will be difficult for it to even reach the break even point. So, let's wait and watch!
