Veteran actor Paresh Rawal opened up about how drinking his own urine helped him recover from a knee injury he sustained during the shoot of director Rajkumar Santoshi's Ghatak. In a scene, Rakesh Pandey had to drag him while they were shooting in a fish market. The film had provided him with new slippers that were slippery, and Paresh was slipping around in the market. While Rakesh didn't exert full force during rehearsals, the actor gave his all during the actual shot, which led to Paresh's knee injury, a mistake he admitted was his own.

Speaking to The Lallantop, Paresh shared that Tinnu Anand and Danny Denzongpa took him to Nanavati Hospital in Mumbai after his knee injury. At that moment, he thought his career was over, leaving him petrified. He shared that Veeru Devgan visited him in the hospital and gave him a shocking piece of advice that would help his injury heal faster.

Paresh added, "Unhone kaha, 'Subah uthkar apna pehla urine peena, sab fighter log yeh hi karte hain. Koi takleef nahi rahegi, kabhi kuch nahi hoga. Lekin pichhli raat ko sharab mat peena, mutton, tobacco kuch mat khana.'"

Further, Paresh revealed that the next day, he prepared himself to drink his own urine for recovery, following the advice given by Veeru Devgan. "Maine socha ki isse udail nahi dunga, will sip it like a beer. Maine 15 din tak yeh kiya aur doctor dang reh gaye. Unhone kaha, 'Yeh cementing apne aap kaise ho gayi?' He saw a white lining on the injury indicating it is healed," added Rawal.

The Bhagam Bhag actor shared that his injury, which would have taken 2 to 2.5 months to heal, was healed in just a month and a half. He credited this miracle to the unique recovery method he followed.

On the work front, Paresh will be seen next in Priyadarshan's Bhoot Bangla, Welcome To The Jungle, Nikita Roy, The Taj Story, Ajey: The Untold Story of a Yogi, and Hera Pheri 3.
