After a slew of setbacks, Shanaya Kapoor, the daughter of Sanjay Kapoor and Maheep Kapoor, is all set to mark her Bollywood debut with the romantic flick, Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan. Her co-star Vikrant Massey unveiled the teaser of the film at an event in Mumbai on May 17, Saturday, and a video of the debutante getting emotional has now gone viral.
In the video, Shanaya can be seen dazzling in a shimmery silver saree complete with a retro hairstyle. Vikrant unveiled the first teaser of Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan at the event and urged people to watch the film with love, and the response to the teaser left Shanaya teary-eyed.
The actress was seen wiping her tears as the audience cheered and clapped post watching the teaser. "Shanaya, I know you're so overwhelmed, but I am so proud of you. I am so happy to have worked with you and I hope I get more opportunities to work with you," Vikrant said, bringing a smile on the actress' face.
For those unversed, Shanaya was set to mark her Bollywood debut with Karan Johar's Bedhadak, co-starring Lakshya and Gurfateh Pirzada, and after a grand announcement in 2022, the film got shelved. Later, Maheep had revealed that her daughter was "traumatised" as the film was canned.
Later, reports went viral that Shanaya would be making her acting debut not in Bollywood, but in the Malayalam film, Vrushabha, opposite superstar Mohanlal, but that too was delayed by several months.
She is now finally set to mark her screen debut with Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan. Not just that, but she also has Aanand L Rai's Tu Yaa Main with Adarsh Gourav in her kitty.
If reports are to be believed, Shanaya will also be a part of Karan Johar's Student Of The Year 3.
