2023 belonged to Shah Rukh Khan. The superstar made his comeback as a lead after a gap of five years with Pathaan (January 2023) which became a blockbuster at the box office. Later, in September 2023, he was seen in Jawan which also broke many records, and then, he ended the year with Dunki which did resonably well at the box office. Now, in 2024, we didn't get to see SRK on the big screens, but his fans are expecting that maybe this year he will have a release.
There have been multiple reports of Shah Rukh Khan starring in a movie titled King which also stars his daughter Suhana Khan. While the film is not officially announced, there were reports that Sujoy Ghosh is directing it.
However, recently, at an event in Dubai, Shah Rukh Khan revealed that Siddharth Anand is directing the film. At the event while giving an update about his upcoming movie, SRK said, "I will be shooting it, when I go back to Mumbai, in a couple of months. My director Siddharth Anand is very strict. He had made Pathaan. So, he is very strict that I should not tell anyone what I am doing in the film. So, I can't tell you, but I can assure that it will entertain you all. I have used so many titles like Devdas, Mohabbatein, Prem, Pyaar, Ishq, so we ran out of titles."
He further added, "So, how to say Shah Rukh Khan in and as Pathaan, Shah Rukh Khan in and as Dunki, Shah Rukh Khan in and as Jawan. Now, Shah Rukh Khan as Shah Rukh Khan King. It is a little bit of show off, but we are in Dubai so people will understand that 'A King Is A King'. But, I am going to work very hard. I think the whole team with Siddharth Anandis going to work very hard and inshallah we will make a great film for everyone which entertains everyone and everybody will be very happy."
Talking about King, there have been multiple reports about the movie. Reportedly, Abhishek Bachchan will be seen as the antagonist in the film, and Munjya actor Abhay verma has also been roped in. Well now, we wait for an official announcement.
