February 7, 2025, this date surprised one and all because a re-release took a much better opening than a new releases. We are talking about Sanam Teri Kasam which has surprised one and all with its re-release collection. When the Harshvardhan Rane and Mawra Hocane starrer was released in 2016, it was a disaster at the box office. The lifetime collection at that time was Rs. 9.11 crore. But, the movie in just two days of its re-release has surpassed the lifetime collection and in three it had minted more than the budget (Rs. 14 crore).
The movie ended its week one with a collection of Rs. 26.50 crore and of course, it is already a super hit. But, all eyes were on the film's second weekend. It was expected that the movie will slow down during its second weekend as Chhaava was releasing with a very good pre-release buzz.
While Chhaava took the box office by storm, Sanam teri Kasam sustained well during its second weekend as the collections wer over a crore every day. According to Sacnilk, on its second Friday, the movie collected approx. Rs. 1.10 crore, even on Saturday, the collections were around the same amount.
On second Sunday, it showed a minimul jump, and collected around Rs. 1.35 crore, taking the 10-day total to approx. Rs. 30 crore. The movie, which has collected the highest in its re-release, is Tumbbad. It had minted Rs. 32 crore. Well, Sanam Teri Kasam will easily surpass that. We can expect that the Harshvarshan-Mawra starrer will collect around Rs. 40 crore during its re-release run.
Meanwhile, Chaava is three days has collected Rs. 116.5 crore which is excellent. Reportedly, the movie made on a budget of Rs. 130 crore, so easily it will surpass its budget by the end of week 1.
