Aneet Padda and Ahaan Panday's Saiyaara has impressed the audience and it is also receiving rave reviews from critics and celebrities. However, the film has now come under scrutiny for allegedly copying the 2004 South Korean romantic drama A Moment to Remember. Amid Saiyaara's box office success, a video comparing scenes from both films has gone viral on social media.

Netizens share video proof

The viral clip features a side-by-side comparison - on top, a scene from A Moment to Remember, and below, a nearly identical sequence from Saiyaara. The striking visual similarity has led many to believe that the Ahaan and Aneet starrer may be a scene-to-scene 'copy' of the acclaimed Korean film.

Fans of Korean cinema were quick to notice the resemblance, especially in the emotional storyline.

Similar plot

Saiyaara follows the love story of Krish Kapoor (Ahaan), a hot-headed musician, and Vaani (Aneet), an aspiring lyricist. Their romance takes a tragic turn when Vaani is diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease, and the couple is forced to navigate a heartbreaking journey of love and memory loss.

Similarly, A Moment to Remember, directed by John H. Lee and starring Son Ye-jin and Jung Woo-sung, centers around a woman diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer's and her husband’s emotional struggle as she gradually forgets him.

Although Saiyaara has earned praise for its music and performances, the viral video has sparked intense discussion online, with many viewers expressing disappointment over the apparent lack of originality.

As of now, the makers of Saiyaara have not released any official statement to confirm or deny whether the film is an authorised remake or merely inspired by the Korean classic.

Meanwhile, Saiyaara has shattered expectations at the box office, crossing the Rs 100 crore mark within just four days of its release. It raked in a total of Rs 105.75 crore in India, making it one of the fastest films of 2025 to achieve this milestone.

Directed by Mohit Suri and produced by Yash Raj Films, Saiyaara also stars Rajesh Kumar, Varun Badola, Shaad Randhawa, and others in pivotal roles.
