Ramayana Is Story Of Our Culture & Our Truth, Says Producer Namit Malhotra As He Unveils First Glimpse Of Ranbir Kapoor's Film

The first glimpse of Ramayana, starring Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram and Yash as Ravana was unveiled on Thursday in Mumbai. At the event, producer Namit Malhotra said, "That's the story of our culture, our truth, our history...All of us should take tremendous pride that we are able to bring this story to the world."

Goosebumps. That's what we all felt while watching the title announcement video of Ramayana. The 3D effects. The background music. The visuals. All on point. The 3D avatars of Lord Ram and Ravana were truly a spectacle and then came a just a glimpse of Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram shooting an arrow.

The video introduced the world of Ramayana, and it opened with the text, "The war to end all wars. Worshipped for 5000 years by 2.5 billion people".

Opening up on the journey of Ramayana from the ideation and scripting stage to its execution, producer Namit Malhotra, who was present at the grand unveiling event of the film, said, "I started in this industry 30 years ago, growing up in a film family, setting up a little studio in a garage in Mumbai and turning it into a true global entity and watching some of the greatest filmmakers and studios across the world. I'm here today to talk to you about something even more special, something that's been my dream my entire life. It gives me great pleasure to introduce you to the world of Ramayana."

He further continued, "That's the story of our culture, our truth, our history, our growing up, the way we've all learned a lot about each other, how humanity and how our thought process and values have shaped the world and continue to do so. All of us should take tremendous pride and feel great joy that we are able to bring this great story and great epic to the world in the grandest form and manner possible."

"My journey of bringing Ramayana and the world of Ramayana to all of you could not have happened without the one and only Nitesh Tiwari by my side as the director. His vision and storytelling for Ramayana is not only unique but it is exemplary. What we're presenting today is the foundation of where Ramayana comes from. The trailer and the teaser will happen subsequently which we will joyously come to you again and present at the right time," he concluded.

The video gave the first glimpses of Ranbir as Lord Ram and Yash as Ravana. It also announced that Sai Pallavi will play Goddess Sita, Ravie Dubey will play Laxman and Sunny Deol will be seen essaying the role of Lord Hanuman.
