Actor Ram Kapoor, who hosted Rakhi Sawant's popular show Rakhi Ka Swayamvar, made a strong statement about how the actress was exploited in the industry, and that she has achieved whatever she has today on her own. Ram also mentioned that while he does not agree to everything Rakhi says, he respects her for her perseverance.
Speaking to Siddharth Kanan, Ram said, "Today, the entire nation knows Rakhi Sawant’s name." He added, “She lives in a 3BHK sea-facing apartment in Mumbai, which I have been to, and she owns. Respect! She achieved this herself."
Hinting at how Rakhi was exploited in showbiz, Ram added, "A nice, sexy dancer, whom the industry tried to misuse...bahut saari gandi experiences hai uski. She had no godfather, nothing. I saw all of this because of Rakhi ka Swayamvar. You learn from everything."
Appreciating Rakhi, Ram added, "I might not agree with her philosophy, madness... waahiyaat cheezein bolti hai, but whatever she does, the fact is she has managed to make her life by herself, and I have seen it. How could you not respect it?"
Meanwhile, Rakhi has currently shifted base to Dubai, and in an interview in November, she had said that she feared arrest in India. She stated that her ex-husband Adil Khan Durrani has filed several complaints against her, and that she was at the risk of getting arrested the moment she stepped foot in India.
"I am not asking anyone for help; this is my battle. Salman Khan, Farah Khan, and Shah Rukh Khan could get me bail in a second, but I am not asking anyone for help," she had said.
"How long will I keep asking for help, how long will I keep begging? I have become a beggar. I have faith in the Indian law," she added.
For those unversed, Rakhi got married to Adil in a traditional nikaah ceremony in 2022, however, in 2023, she filed for divorce citing sexual harassment and cheating. While Adil denied the allegations, Rakhi had further claimed that Adil had sold her nude videos for lakhs in Dubai.
