In a rare and heartwarming gesture, superstar Rajinikanth chose to travel like a common man by flying economy on an IndiGo flight, leaving fans on board stunned and delighted. The 74-year-old actor, known not just for his legendary screen presence but also his simplicity, was seen boarding the flight with a humble smile, and social media can't stop talking about it.
A video shared by an X user quickly went viral, capturing the moment the Jailer 2 actor entered the aircraft.
Dressed casually in a blue T-shirt, Rajinikanth was escorted to his seat by the airline staff. As soon as he appeared, passengers erupted in cheers, many pulling out their phones to capture the moment. The actor, true to his style, smiled and waved at the crowd before taking his seat by the window in the front row.
Despite reportedly owning a private jet worth Rs 8 crore, the actor opted for an economy-class ticket, winning admiration from fans for his grounded nature.
The actor was reportedly flying back to Chennai after wrapping up a schedule for his much-anticipated film Jailer 2.
Before boarding the flight, Rajinikanth also made a spiritual stop in Kerala, where he visited the 400-year-old Matheswaran Shiva Temple. The actor, dressed in traditional attire, was seen stepping out of his car and being greeted by temple authorities before proceeding inside to seek blessings.
Meanwhile, on the work front, the actor was last seen with Amitabh Bachchan in the film Vettaiyan.
He will next be seen in Coolie, which is scheduled to be released in the second half of 2025. Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, the action thriller also stars Nagarjuna, Upendra, Soubin Shahir, Sathyaraj, Shruti Haasan, Reba Monica John and others.
Currently, the actor is busy with the shoot of Nelson Dilipkumar's film, Jailer 2.
