Singer and Bigg Boss 14 runner-up Rahul Vaidya, along with his parents Krushna and Geeta Vaidya, recently sold two of their residential properties in Mumbai's Oshiwara for a total of Rs 5 crore, according to official property registration documents reviewed by Square Yards on the website of the Inspector General of Registration (IGR), Maharashtra.
Both apartments are located in Samartha Aangan, a ready-to-move-in premium residential project situated in the upscale western suburb of Oshiwara, known for its proximity to Lokhandwala Complex and vibrant celebrity presence.
Both the transactions were registered in April 2025.
Details of the Transactions:
First Apartment: Spanning 102.41 sq m (~1,102 sq ft), this flat fetched a sale value of Rs 3 crore. The stamp duty for the transaction was Rs 18 lakh, with an additional registration fee of Rs 30,000.
Originally purchased by the Vaidya family in May 2008 for Rs 1.01 crore, the property appreciated significantly over the years.
Second Apartment: Measuring 69.05 sq m (~743 sq ft), the second unit was sold for Rs 2 crore, attracting a stamp duty of Rs 12 lakh and registration charges of Rs 30,000.
This unit was also bought in May 2008, for Rs 68.3 lakh.
Oshiwara has become a real estate hotspot, thanks to its strategic location, robust infrastructure, and high-profile residents. Several Bollywood celebrities such as Amitabh Bachchan, Ajay Devgn, Sunny Leone, and Sara Ali Khan also own properties in the area, making it one of Mumbai’s most desirable neighborhoods.
Rahul Vaidya gained national fame as the second runner-up of Indian Idol Season 1 and has since built a successful career in music and television. His hit debut album Tera Intezar and several Bollywood playback songs have made him a household name.
The singer went on to win reality shows like Jo Jeeta Wohi Superstar and Music Ka Maha Muqqabla, and earned massive popularity as the runner-up of Bigg Boss 14.
