The Income Tax Department officials raided Pushpa director Sukumar’s house and office in Hyderabad on Wednesday morning (January 22). The filmmaker is currently enjoying the blockbuster success of Pushpa 2: The Rule, which starred Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna and Fahadh Faasil.

As reported by Sakshi Post, raids at Sukumar's premises started early in the morning and lasted for several hours. Sukumar was reportedly at the Hyderabad airport when IT officials escorted him back to his residence, where the raids were subsequently conducted.

Sukumar has not reacted to the raids yet. Also, the purpose behind the raids and the findings have not been disclosed at this point. Authorities have not provided any details or clarification about what prompted the search.

Furthermore, no official statement has been released by the Income Tax department concerning the raids.

According to a report in Telangana Today, IT raids were also conducted eight locations related to Game Changer producer Dil Raju, including his residence, his daughter's house, his offices and the houses of other relatives.

The producer has chosen to remain tightlipped on the matter, but his fans are now concerned, wondering what the reason behind the raids might be.

Dil Raju was recently in news after his film Game Changer, starring Ram Charan and Kiara Advani, released in theatres on January 10. While the film was extensively promoted, it failed miserably at the box office. Mounted on a budget of Rs 450 crore, Game Changer managed to earn only Rs 126 crore, resulting in heavy losses to the makers.

Dil Raju is also known for producing films like Thalapathy Vijay's Varisu and The Family Star with Vijay Deverakonda, under his banner, Sri Venkateswara Creations.
