Actor Prabhas is back in the spotlight as the release date of his upcoming horror-comedy film The Raja Saab has been announced. The film, directed by Maruthi, is now scheduled to hit theatres on December 5, 2025, after facing a few months of delay.
According to a report by Siasat, the Telugu star, popularly known as the Rebel Star, has reportedly reduced his remuneration for the film by Rs 50 crore. Yes, you read that right. Prabhas, who typically charges around Rs 150 crore per film, is said to be taking Rs 100 crore for The Raja Saab.
The decision to slash his fee is reportedly believed to have been influenced by the lukewarm response to Adipurush, a previous project backed by the same production house, People Media Factory. While Adipurush generated buzz before its release, the film failed to meet box office expectations and drew criticism for various creative choices.

However, it is to be noted that after Adipurush, his Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire with Prithviraj Sukumaran performed well at the box office and reportedly earned over Rs 600 crore. Later, Kalki 2898 AD also raked in nearly Rs 1,200 crore worldwide.
The Raja Saab marks a shift in genre for Prabhas, who is known for his action and mythological roles. The film blends romance, comedy, and horror, presenting a different side of the actor.
The makers are hoping that the upcoming release will strike a chord with audiences and offer a fresh cinematic experience.
Meanwhile, the teaser of the film is scheduled to drop on June 16.
The Raja Saab is produced by TG Vishwa Prasad under the banner of People Media Factory. The cinematography of the film is handled by Karthik Palani, while Thaman S composed the music of the movie.
The film also stars Malavika Mohanan, Nidhhi Agerwal and Ridhi Kumar in prominent roles. It has been creating a buzz ever since the makers released its first-look poster of the film on the occasion of Makar Sankranti last year.

The movie is set to have a pan-India release in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam.
