Bengali actor Jeetu Kamal finally broke his silence after his Chirodini Tumi Je Amar co-star Ditipriya Roy accused him of harassment and sending inappropriate messages. He claimed that Ditipriya was being instigated by people, and he also shared screenshots of their chats on WhatsApp.

Jeetu stated that while he would have ignored the incident, he is compelled to issue a statement for the sake of his family. "I never share my opinions about my personal life on social media, but this isn’t purely personal. This is a minor professional issue. Why did I call it 'minor'? Because it involves a little girl -- a young girl. She probably doesn’t even realise the gravity of what she’s done (sic)," he wrote in a long Facebook post.

Reacting to Ditipriya's claims of getting inappropriate messages from him, Jeetu stated, "I don’t speak face-to-face — this is the truth. I don’t go to the studio and talk about anything other than my work — this is the truth. Yes, I spoke to her on WhatsApp — this too is the truth. But the question is — what did I say? Here you go. (Out of respect for my parents, I was forced to make this public.) I’ve laid everything bare in front of you. If you think I was wrong, tell me directly and I’ll change myself (sic)."

"However, I’ve blurred out the girl’s phone number, because she could get into trouble, may have to switch off her phone — as a senior, it’s my duty to be mindful of that (sic)," he added.

Jeetu then requested people to "forgive" Ditipriya, and wrote, "Playing the “victim card” isn’t new in our society. There are many examples of this — but this girl is not at fault, this girl is innocent. She is being instigated from behind. And those who are instigating her won’t stand by her when she’s in trouble. Please, let the girl walk her own path. Let her work. She is a good, educated girl. Yes, a bit immature — and capable of giving her entire life for the one she loves (sic)."

The 35-year-old concluded the note with a special message for Ditipriya's boyfriend. "To her beloved, I say this: Please take care of her. Don’t let her slip away. You’ve found a gem (sic)," he wrote.

Along with the long note, he shared a slew of screenshots of all the messages exchanged between Ditipriya and him. In the chats, he can be indeed seen sending her morphed pictures of them and fake articles about them, but the actress can be seen reacting to it casually.

In one of the screenshots, Jeetu can also be seen telling her that people on sets of their show were gossiping and spreading rumours about them, to which the 22-year-old actress responded that she does not pay heed to gossip and unnecessary chatter.

Ditipriya is now yet to react to Jeetu's post. The makers of Chirodini Tumi Je Amar have also not issued a statement as of yet.
