Bhool Chuk Maaf was slated to release in theatres on May 9, 2025. But, due to the India-Pakistan conflict, the makers had decided to release it on OTT. However, that landed them in a legal tussle. Now, finally, the Rajkummar Rao and Wamiqa Gabbi starrer is all set to be back in the theatres. The movie will release in cinemas on May 23, 2025.
The makers shared an official statement which read, "With the swift and brave intervention of the Hon'ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi ji and the Indian Army, peace has been restored. In this renewed atmosphere, the space for storytelling & cinematic expression to flourish has further strengthened. Bhool Chuk Maaf will now release as originally envisioned - as a celebration of cinema, on the big screen. In the spirit of this renewed environment, and following open, constructive discussions with all stakeholders, PVRINOX Limited (PVRINOX), Maddock Films Pvt. Ltd. (Maddock), and Amazon MGM Studios are happy to announce that Maddock Film’s keenly awaited , Bhool Chuk Maaf, will release in theatres on 23 May 2025."
It further read, "Directed by Karan Sharma and featuring Rajkummar Rao & Wamiqa Gabbi, Bhool Chuk Maaf is a romantic comedy and a family entertainer. We can’t wait to share this story with audiences around the world in the setting it was created for."
Bhool Chuk Maaf OTT Release
Due to India-Pakistan conflict, the makers of the film had decided to release it on Amazon Prime Video on May 16, 2025. However, PVR INOX filed a lawsuit against the makers for cancelling the theatrical release, and the Bombay High Court had restrained the film from release on OTT. However, Bhool Chuk Maaf will finally be released in theatres.
