"Mujhe unn logo ka tajurba hai, Pakistani haare to palat ke ek baar phir aata hai… agar jeet jao to fauran laparwah nahi ho jaana. Meri baat yaad rakhna."

This dialogue delivered by the late actor Om Puri in Farhan Akhtar's 2004 war drama Lakshya, starring Hrithik Roshan in the lead role, is being shared online after Pakistan reportedly violated the ceasefire agreement just hours after agreeing to it on May 10.

In the film, Om Puri played a seasoned army officer who warns Hrithik's character about the unpredictable nature of the enemy, urging vigilance even in victory.

His words, "I have experience with these people; if Pakistan loses, it turns around and comes back again… if you win, don’t become careless immediately. Remember my words," have struck a chord with netizens amid fresh tensions on the border.

Social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter) has been flooded with clips of the scene, with many users referencing the dialogue in light of Saturday night’s incidents in Srinagar.

Just hours after India and Pakistan declared a ceasefire, multiple explosions and sirens were reported in the region. Some users had already cautioned against complacency, "Ceasefire is fine but never forget Om Puri’s words," wrote an X user, echoing the late actor's warning in the film.

"This statement by Om Puri in LoC movie was bang right," wrote another user.

"Om Puri said it way back in 2004 in the movie Lakshya.. Never Trust Pakistan.. #Ceasefire #IndiaPakistanWar."

In the film, Om Puri played the role of Subedar Major Pritam Singh. Lakshya also starred Amitabh Bachchan, Preity Zinta, Boman Irani, Parmeet Sethi, Ranvir Shorey, Aditya Srivastava and others.

It was written by Javed Akhtar and directed by his son Farhan Akhtar.

On May 10, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri announced that India and Pakistan reached an understanding to cease all military actions across land, air, and sea with immediate effect. However, just a few hours after this declaration, reports of ceasefire violations by Pakistan began to emerge, casting uncertainty over the agreement.
