Pakistani actress Hina Khawaja Bayat claimed in a video on Thursday that there was a water cut in major public spots of Pakistan, including the Karachi International Airport. This comes a month after India suspended the Indus Water Treaty with the neighbouring country in the aftermath of the ghastly terrorist attack in Pahalgam.
Hina shared a video on her social media handle, recorded at the Karachi airport. In the video, she stated, "At a time when we should celebrate the achievements of Pakistan, I see that there is no water in the washrooms of the Karachi International Airport. People want to perform wuzu, pray namaz, take their kids to the washroom, but there is no water."
She questioned, "Why are our airports, our institutions, our system in such a condition? No one is ready to accept the mistakes and fix them."
"People are talking about massive new projects, new trains and such things, but who will look at the existing system? We have reached a point in time when there is no water in the washroom of an international airport. This is highly regretful," she added.

Meanwhile, amid the raging tensions between India and Pakistan, the Prime Minister of the neighbouring country, Shehbaz Sharif, recently stated that he was "ready to talk" to India to resolve "longstanding issues". This comes days after India attacked terrorist bases in Pakistan under Operation Sindoor.
However, Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal reiterated that India will only speak to Pakistan on their own conditions. "As far as the Indus Water Treaty is concerned, it will remain in abeyance till the time Pakistan credibly and irrevocably abjures its support to cross-border terrorism," Jaiswal stated.

Post Operation Sindoor, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had also stated that "water and blood cannot flow together", and thus, the Indus Water Treaty will remain suspended until further notice.
