Actors Urvashi Rautela and Nandamuri Balakrishna's film Daaku Maharaj is all set to make its way to the streaming giant Netflix soon. However, ever since the announcement of its OTT release, the film has been making headlines for all the wrong reasons. Recently, a news report claimed that Urvashi's scenes from the film had been removed by Netflix, sparking speculations about last-minute edits before the film's digital premiere.
However, a source close to the OTT platform has refuted these claims, calling them baseless.
"This is absolutely false. There's no truth to the reports. Nothing has been cut by Netflix. The same theatrical run of Daaku Maharaj will be released on OTT," the source told The Free Press Journal exclusively.
Urvashi has not reacted to the reports yet.
Despite the controversy, fans of Nandamuri Balakrishna and Urvashi Rautela are eagerly awaiting the film's arrival on the streaming platform on February 21. Daaku Maharaj will be available in Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam.
Urvashi missing from Netflix's Daaku Maharaj poster
A few days back, Netflix shared a poster of the film to announce its digital release date. While the poster featured Nandamuri Balakrishna, Bobby Deol, Pragya Jaiswal and other actors, Urvashi's absence from it raised eyebrows.
However, the streaming giant later shared two pictures of Urvashi on social media, along with other cast members.
It may be mentioned that Urvashi left no stone unturned to promote Daaku Maharaj before the film's theatrical release.
The film collected Rs 90.93 crore (including all languages) in India within 30 days of its release. The worldwide collection of the film stands at Rs 125.8 crore, according to media reports.
The movie was also released in Hindi, but it managed to earn only Rs 37 lakh.
