Punjabi actress Neeru Bajwa has unfollowed Pakistani star and her Sardaar Ji 3 co-star Hania Aamir on Instagram amid controversy surrounding the film. Starring Diljit Dosanjh in the lead role, the film released overseas on Friday (June 27), however, the actor is being slammed for his collaboration with Hania, despite a renewed ban on Pakistani artists in India following Pahalgam terror attack.

Amid the controversy, several social media users noticed that Neeru has not only unfollowed Hania but also deleted all posts related to the film from her official Instagram account.

A screenshot was posted on Reddit which shows that Neeru is not following Hania anymore. Her Instagram feed shows no photos or videos related to Sardaar Ji 3.

While Reddit users claim that Neeru unfollowed Hania, it's unclear whether she ever followed her in the first place.

Sardaar Ji 3 controversy

Sardaar Ji 3 has drawn criticism due to the inclusion of a Pakistani artist Hania at a time when tensions remain high between both the nations and there are calls to boycott collaborations with Pakistani talent.

Soon after Diljit shared the trailer of Sardaar Ji 3 on his official Instagram account earlier this week, he was slammed by a section of users. Netizens called him 'insensitive' and 'shameless' for working with Hania.

Also, social media accounts of Pakistani celebs have been banned in India and this decision was taken after Pahalgam terror attack in which 26 tourists died.

Producers react amid controversy

In a statement released on June 24, the production team clarified that Sardaar Ji 3 was shot well before the Pahalgam attack and that no Pakistani artist was signed or was engaged after that.

Addressing the growing criticism, the makers said, "We stand united with our country and our fellow countrymen during this sensitive time. Considering the same, we had decided not to release the film or any of its promotional content in India until the situation becomes opportune."
