Bollywood actress Mouni Roy recently opened up about a frightening experience during one of her travels, when a stranger attempted to unlock her hotel room door in the middle of the night. The actress, who is currently busy with the promotions of her upcoming film The Bhootnii, said she started screaming when she realised someone attempted to get inside the room.

Opening up about the unsettling incident during a conversation with Bollywood Bubble, Mouni shared, "I was in a small town, I can't remember exactly which one, but there someone actually stole a key and tried to open my room. Thankfully, I wasn't alone; I was with my manager. We started screaming when we realised what was happening."

"Then we tried calling the receptionist. They casually said it must have been housekeeping. I questioned them 'Who in housekeeping is coming to open a door without knocking, without ringing the bell, and that too at 12:30 at night?'," she added.

The actress, best known for her work in television shows and films like Gold and Brahmastra, said she didn't take the explanation at face value. She confronted the hotel staff, questioning their casual attitude toward a serious breach of security.

On the work front, Mouni is now gearing up for the release of her next, The Bhootnii. In the film, she will be seen playing a ghost named Mohabbat.

The Bhootnii belongs to the horror action-comedy genre and it also stars Sanjay Dutt, Palak Tiwari, Sunny Singh, Beyounick, and Aasif Khan in key roles. The film is set to hit the silver screens on May 1, 2025.
