Pakistani actor Arsalan Naseer took a dig at the Indian government after Pakistani artists were banned in the country, not just on entertainment channels but also on social media platforms like Instagram. The move came in the wake of the terrorist attack in Pahalgam on April 22.

Arsalan took to his social media and addressing a message to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, wrote, "Modi bro tum ne mujey India mai Ban kar diya hai? What's next? Meri Ammi ko shikaayat lagao gay? (sic)."

He also took a playful jibe at Fawad Khan and the controversy surrounding his return to Bollywood with the film, Abir Gulaal. "Fawad bhai film ap ne ki...Masla border pe shuru hogaya... Ban mai ho Gaya. Mind na kerna lekin ap wo 'Ice Age' waali gulehri hain (sic)," Arsalan wrote.

On Wednesday evening, the Instagram accounts of several Pakistani celebs were blocked in India. Amongst the first accounts to get suspended in India were that of Hania Aamir, Mahira Khan, Sajal Aly, Ali Zafar, Bilal Abbas Khan, Feroz Khan, Ushna Shah, and others.

In addition to restricting individual profiles, the Indian government has also blocked several YouTube channels and pages belonging to Pakistani production houses. Numerous Pakistani TV dramas which were popular among Indian audiences have now been banned from streaming in the country.

The tensions between India and Pakistan escalated after terrorists attacked tourists in Pahalgam, Kashmir, on April 22, claiming 26 lives. Several Bollywood celebs strongly condemned the incident and demanded strict action against the perpetrators. Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar, Sanjay Dutt, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Alia Bhatt, and others raised their voice against the ghastly act.

In fact, Pakistani actor Fawad Khan was set to make a Bollywood comeback with his upcoming film, Abir Gulaal, co-starring Vaani Kapoor. The film, which was scheduled to release worldwide on May 9, faced boycott calls, and the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting ultimately announced that the film won't be allowed to release in India.
