Actors Prince Narula and Yuvika Chaudhary welcomed their first child in 2024 with the help of IVF, six years after their wedding in 2018. In a recent chat, Yuvika revealed how the two were not able to conceive naturally as one of them always had to travel during her ovulation window.
Yuvika admitted that she did not have much knowledge about IVF earlier, and she learnt about it when she was looking for options to freeze her eggs. "I visited a doctor and she scared me and said, ‘You can’t have babies’. She must have thought that she can make some business from me,” the actress revealed on Nayandeep Rakshit's podcast.
"I panicked and asked Prince to plan a child right now, I thought my cycle is late. I started the egg freezing process and they took signatures that after anesthesia, we don’t take guarantee if you will wake up normal or not. Because I was weak, Prince asked to cancel, he said I am more important to him than having a baby," she added.
Yuvika shared that they then changed their doctor, and her confidence got boosted after taking second opinion. "The doctor boosted my confidence to try for a baby and get my eggs frozen. I told my doctor that this is my first and last trial. They put so many injections during this process," she recalled.
She went on to say, "I would try naturally as well, but maybe it was a nazar thing that whenever it was our ovulation period, one of us had to travel."
The Om Shanti Om actress gushed that the IVF procedure worked in her favour in the first try itself, and it was Prince who read the blood test reports and announced that they were pregnant. "He was crying. I was numb. We were overjoyed," she shared.
During the conversation, Yuvika also revealed that pregnancy at the age of 41 took a toll on her mental health, and she suffered from postpartum depression, but her family stood firm by her.
