Amid the raging controversy surrounding his video on Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, comedian Kunal Kamra has dropped a new parody song, showing glimpses of an angry mob vandalising the The Habitat Club, burning his posters, and shouting abuses for him.

Kunal's new song is the parody version of the track Hum Honge Kamyaab, but the comedian sung it as "Hum Honge Kangaal". "Vikasit Bharat ka ek aur anthem," he told the audience before singing the song.

Certain lines in his song went like, "Hum honge kangaal, hum honge kangaal ek din...Mann mein andhvishwas, desh ka satyanash, hum honge kangaal ek din...". He further sang, "Honge nange chaaro or, karenge dange chaaro or, police ke pange chaaro or, ek din...Mann mein Nathuram, harkatein Asaram, hum honge kangaal ek din..."

As soon as he dropped the video online, he received massive support from a section of the internet, who stood by the comedian's decision of not apologising to Eknath Shinde for his earlier song.

What is the Kunal Kamra controversy?

For those unversed, the row erupted after Kamra, in his latest standup comedy set, called Eknath Shinde 'gaddar' and sung a parody song on the tunes of 'Dil Toh Pagal Hai'.

The act drew a sharp and violent criticism from the Shiv Sena, and workers of the party were seen vandalising The Habitat Club where Kamra performed the set. While the Shiv Sainiks slammed the comedian for disrespecting Shinde, others defended his freedom of speech.

Shiv Sena party workers also gathered at the Khar police station to file a complaint against Kamra, while others approached the MIDC Police Station with similar demands.

Reacting to the controversy, Kamra slammed the mob for vandalising the studio and refused to apologise, stating that it is "not against the law to poke fun at leaders and the circus that is the political system."

"I don't fear this mob & I will not be hiding under my bed, waiting for this to die down," he wrote.
