Actress Karisma Kapoor was seen jetting off to Delhi once again on Sunday to attend the prayer meet of her ex-husband, Sunjay Kapur, who passed away on June 12. She was accompanied by their children -- Samaira and Kiaan, as well as sister Kareena Kapoor Khan and Saif Ali Khan.
Karisma and the kids were spotted at the Mumbai airport on Sunday afternoon, dressed in all whites, flying to New Delhi. They were followed by Kareena and Saif, who avoided the paparazzi and quickly made their way in. They too were seen wearing white clothes to mourn for the departed soul.
Sunjay Kapoor passed away on June 12 in the UK after he accidentally swallowed a bee while playing polo. The bee reportedly got stuck in his throat, which triggered panic and resulted into a heart attack that killed the entrepreneur.
His funeral was held on June 19 at 5 pm, and Karisma, along with her kids, and Kareena and Saif, were seen paying their respects to the deceased. Karisma was also seen consoling her son Kiaan, who broke down seeing his father's mortal remains.
Sunjay's prayer meet will be held at the Taj Palace in Delhi on Sunday.
Sunjay got married to Karisma in 2003, but their marriage hit a rough patch soon after, and in 2016, they were officially granted divorce. During their divorce trial, Karisma had accused Sunjay of domestic abuse and she had even claimed that he had forced her to sleep with his friends on their honeymoon.
In 2023, Sunjay and Karisma made a rare appearance in Mumbai together when they were spotted leaving a restaurant together post dinner.
