After competing inside the Bigg Boss 18 house for over three months, television actor Karan Veer Mehra was declared as the winner of the reality show by host Salman Khan on Sunday. In his first interview post stepping out of the house with the winner's trophy, Karan bared his heart out and thanked his fans for the support.

In an exclusive chat with Free Press Journal, Karan stated that he was overwhelmed upon seeing so many people outside the house all at once. "I am very excited to be in the outside world once again. My mom has come here all the way from Delhi and I am very happy. I am still trying to believe that I've actually won the trophy. The feeling is sinking in slowly," he gushed.

Opening up on his learnings inside the Bigg Boss 18 house, Karan shared, "It feels like I have stepped out of a rehab. I have learnt be patient, thanks to this show. Earlier, I would get upset and dejected over little things, but that is one of the major things that has changed for me post the show."

One of the talking points of Karan's Bigg Boss 18 journey was his equation with fellow contestant Chum Darang. Through the course of the show, the actor developed a liking towards her and even confessed his feelings, however, Chum maintained that she would discuss their relationship once the show was over. When asked if the 'ChumVeer' fans can expect a good news soon, Karan replied, "I have already said what I had to. Now as Salman Khan sir had said, the choice is always the woman's. So I'll wait to hear it from here."

On a parting note, Karan, who won Bigg Boss 18 by a huge margin, admitted that he had no idea he would receive so much love from the audience. "I don't know how to return the love that my fans have bestowed upon me. I am just so full of gratitude. I don't have words to describe how much this support means to me," he said.

"Not only my fans, but I would also like to thank the media because they too have supported me a lot from what I'm hearing. It is because of the support of the media that I have come so far in life, in my career. It's not just my victory, it's our victory!" he concluded.
