Renowned South Korean actor Kim Soo Hyun, who was embroiled in a major dating scandal post the death of actress Kim Sae-ron earlier this year, has now reportedly sold his luxury apartment located in Seoul. This comes days after reports claimed that the actor suffered major financial losses after his name cropped up in the scandal.
According to reports, the actor finalised the sale deal on July 3 for 8 billion KRW, which is approximately Rs 49.80 crore. The luxury property, situated in the upscale Galleria Fort complex in Seoul, spans across 170.98 square metre.
The Queen of Tears actor had purchased the apartment back in 2014 for Rs 18.86 crore, and with the sale, he registered a handsome profit of around 164 per cent.

Kim Soo Hyun's team denies financial distress
As word about the sale of the apartment spread, rumour mills went abuzz claiming that the actor sold the house to cope up with the financial distress in the aftermath of the dating scandal.
However, his team rubbished the rumours, and clarified that the move to sell the house was not made because of the actor's financial concerns. They also said that the buyer for the apartment was already finalised in 2023, and that the contract being signed after the scandal was not an intentional move.
Interestingly, Soo Hyun still possesses two more swanky apartments in the same complex, of which one was purchased in 2013 and another in 2024.

Kim Soo Hyun dating scandal
For those unversed, actress Kim Sae-ron's suicide in February this year opened a can of worms for Soo Hyun, as the late star's family accused the actor of dating her when she was a minor, 'grooming' her, and then abandoning her after he became a superstar.
While Soo Hyun admitted that he did date Sae-ron for a year, he stated that they were in a relationship when she was already an adult. He also accused Sae-ron's family of trying to milk her death and framing him with false accusations.
