Bollywood star Sunny Deol's latest film, Jaat, saw a surge in its numbers on its third day on Saturday after a dismal performance at the box office on Friday. The film saw a huge jump in its revenue as it earned a whopping Rs 10 crore on the third day.
According to industry tracker Sacnilk, Jaat had 16.70 per cent occupancy for its primary Hindi language. While the film opened with Rs 9.50 crore on April 10, Thursday, it dipped to Rs 7 crore on Friday. But it soared once again on Saturday with Rs 10 crore, and thus, the total box office collection of the Sunny Deol entertainer now stands at Rs 26.50 crore.
The film saw a rise in its numbers despite multiple shows being reportedly cancelled across India. According to a report in Indian Express, around 400 shows of Jaat were cancelled in Mumbai, Delhi and other cities of India due to its below-average box office performance on its first day.
The makers now have all their hopes pinned on the positive word of mouth about the film in the market. Critically too, the film's reviews were more on the positive side. Jaat is expected to see another jump on Sunday, and time will tell if Deol will be able to pass the weekend test with flying colours.
Jaat also stars Randeep Hooda, Vineet Kumar Singh, Regina Cassandra, Saiyami Kher, Urvashi Rautela and Ayesha Khan in key roles. The film marks Deol's return to the silver screens after 1.5 years, his last film being Gadar 2, which wreaked havoc at the box office and was one of the highest-grossing films of 2023.
