Actress and travel and lifestyle vlogger Shenaz Treasury, best known for her role in Shahid Kapoor and Amrita Rao-starrer Ishq Vishq, has revealed that she lost a brand deal due to the ongoing controversy surrounding India's Got Latent.
The controversy, which stemmed from YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia’s jokes about parental sex on comedian Samay Raina's show, has had unexpected repercussions in the influencer and brand collaboration space.
In a conversation with Moneycontrol, Shenaz shared how a company backed out of a deal with her in the wake of the ongoing controversy. "I was about to collaborate with a marathon platform that was offering equity. But after the controversy, they called me and decided to drop me from the project, which was very disappointing," she said.
According to Shenaz, brands are now being extra cautious. "They told me they can’t afford to work with celebrities or influencers because of what happened with Ranveer Allahbadia. If someone says something, it could backfire, and they don’t want to take that risk," she added.

India's Got Latent controversy
The controversy began after Ranveer, popularly known as Beer Biceps, asked a contestant of India's Got Latent, "Would you rather watch your parents have sex every day for the rest of your life or join in once to make it stop forever?"
Others panelists, including Samay, Ashish Chanchlani and Apoorva Makhija aka The Rebel Kid, laughed over Ranveer's supposed 'joke'.
The remarks were deemed vulgar and inappropriate. Following criticism and social media outrage, Samay deleted the related videos from his YouTube channel. Ranveer also issued an apology and stated that comedy is not his forte.
Ranveer's viral comment also led to multiple complaints and FIRs being filed and summons being issued by Maharashtra Cyber Cell, dragging several individuals.
