'It's A Big Propaganda': Khushboo Patani Asks People Not To Blindly Believe Online Content Amid Backlash Over Lord Krishna Remark

Bollywood actress Disha Patani's sister, former Army officer and social media influencer Khushboo Patani, sparked controversy after her comments about Lord Krishna during a discussion on love, marriage, and live-in relationships went viral. The remarks, made in a video posted on her Instagram handle a few days back, have drawn criticism, with many accusing her of disrespecting religious sentiments.

In the now-viral clip, Khushboo is heard saying, "(Krishna) bhaaga ke leke aa gaye the Rukimini ko Dwarka (Lord Krishna had brought Rukmini to Dwarka by eloping with her)."

She further added that while some people might distance themselves because such acts are not in line with societal norms, "Krishna has always broken the norms of society, every time."

The interpretation, however, did not sit well with several social media users. Critics accused her of oversimplifying or misrepresenting religious history, and the comment section of her post was quickly flooded with sharp, and in some cases, angry reactions.

Amid the growing backlash, Khushboo addressed the controversy through an Instagram stories. She cautioned her followers against blindly believing content circulating on social media, particularly when it is created for engagement rather than accuracy.

"Do not trust any Instagram news created by creators until and unless it is coming from legit source or newspapers. Discard everything and anything as real on Instagram pages who does stuff only for views. Its a big propaganda stop giving it much attention. 90 per cent stuff that you are reading or listening is fake and twisted as per their wish or someone else wish," Khushboo wrote.

She added, "Please read newspaper or magazine for overall picture and then create your views and not Insta news. Here views are put on your mind without you realising."

She went on to criticise what she called unverified and agency-driven online chatter, writing, "They are uneducated people who got access to net thats all. Most of them are paid and run by agencies. Do not trust insta news. In today's world everything is twisted! Everything. Confirm the news from originator then only trust. For the welfare of our mental health. Its too negative now. please avoid it at all cost. TC of your heart...see only those stuff that can motive you."

In July 2025, Khushboo strongly criticised spiritual leader and religious orator Aniruddhacharya Maharaj over his alleged remarks about women in live-in relationships.

In the widely circulated clip on social media, Khushboo can be heard calling Aniruddhacharya's comments "inappropriate" and going so far as to label him a "ba***rd" for targeting women who choose to live with their partners outside of marriage.
