India's Got Latent, is one show that has been grabbing everyone's attention from the past few months. The show started by Samay Raina is about contestants coming and showcasing their talents, and then the jury (including Samay and other celebrity guests) asks them questions and roasts them. There's no filter in the show, and the contestants, jury, and the guests freely use foul language. Words like 'M*darch*d', 'L*wde', and many more are used in the show very commonly.
Till now, celebs like Uorfi Javed, Badshah, Siddhant Chaturvedi, Poonam Pandey, Avika Gor, Bharti Singh, Haarsh Limbachiyaa, Rakhi Sawant, and others have been a part of the show as guests. Now, recently, the guests on the show were YouTubers, Ranveer Allahbadia (Beer Biceps), Ashish Chanchlani, and Apoorva Mukhija.
The recent episode has embroiled in controversy due to a question asked by Ranveer to a contestant. The YouTuber asks, "Would you rather watch your parents have sex every day for the rest of your life or would you join in once and stop it forever?"
Now, this question of Ranveer has created a lot of controversies. People on social media are trolling the YouTuber, and they are stating that a show like India's Got Latent should be banned.
But, what raises a concern here is where is online comedy heading to? 10 years ago, All India Bakchod Knockout has taken place. A roast show which had Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor as the guests, and comedians took digs at them. The show, which was premiered on YouTube, had attracted controversies because of the foul language and gestures used in it. Later, it was taken down from YouTube.
In today's time, when a phone is there in everyone's hand, even kids, such content being shown on YouTube is surely worrisome. Also, from when sex talks and words like 'M*darch*d', 'L*wde', 'D*ck', became a topic of laughter.
Parents do have sex, and there's nothing wrong in it. Remember how beautifully that topic was portrayed in Badhaai Ho. But, then on a YouTube channel asking someone if he would see his parents have sex or join them, well that's not cool. Also, this is not the first time when this show has made it to the headlines. From making fun of Deepika Padukone's depression to Uorfi Javed walking out for the show as she felt she was slut shamed, India's Got Latent has been grabbing attention for a lot of wrong reasons.

This also raises a question that should YouTube content be censored? There have always been debate about content shown on OTT platform. A lot of people feel that there should be censorship on OTT as some shows have sexual content, foul language, and gory visuals. But now, with YouTube content also being questioned a lot, we wonder if there should be a censorship on YouTube.
An FIR has been filed against Ranveer, and Maharashtra's Chief Minister, Devendra Fadnavis, has also condemned it. While Ranveer has shared an apology about it, let's wait and watch whether the controversial video will be taken down or not.
