'I Thought I Was Slender': Tamannaah Bhatia Recalls Fan Thanking Her For Representing 'Fat' Women With Songs Like Aaj Ki Raat, Kaavaalaa

Actress Tamannaah Bhatia recalled how a woman once thanked her for representing "fat" women with her song, Aaj Ki Raat. "But I didn't think I was fat. According to me, I was very slender. It was during that phase of Kaavaalaa and Aaj Ki Raat that people thought I was a bigger body size," she shared.

Actress Tamannaah Bhatia recently opened up on accepting ones body and how people often associated her with a bigger body size. She also recalled an incident when a fan indirectly called her fat, but until then, she had never felt that she was curvy or overweight.

During a chat on Lallantop, Tamannaah shared, "When Aaj Ki Raat came out, I was praised for promoting body-positivity, for having a very desirable and likeable body. It was during that phase of Kaavaalaa and Aaj Ki Raat that people thought I was a bigger body size. But according to me, I was very slender."

She went on to recall, "A woman came to me at a party and she said that women like her feel recognised because I was also so curvy, and she was also curvy, so they felt good after watching me in Aaj Ki Raat. She used the word 'fat'. But I didn't think I was fat until then. It gave me perspective of what people thought about me."

Tamannaah also shared instances when mothers told her that their kids refused to eat food without watching her song, Aaj Ki Raat. "I can’t tell you the number of mothers that have called me up and said, ‘My child will eat food only if he hears Aaj Ki Raat’. Bacche apne diaper mein aise aise hil rahe hote hai," she said.

Discussing about the impact of the song on kids, Tamannaah quipped, "Ek aadh saal mein unko kaunse lyrics samajh mein aayenge? The mother's concern is to feed her child. That is her priority, so be it."

On the work front, Tamannaah will be next seen in the film, Vvan: Force Of The Forest, co-starring Sidharth Malhotra. The film draws its story from Indian mythology and is set in Central India. It is scheduled to hit the silver screens in May next year.

She reportedly also has another film with Ajay Devgn and Sanjay Dutt, and a web series named Daring Partners with Diana Penty. Not much has been revealed about the projects yet.
