Actress-content creator Debina Bonnerjee recently shared a vlog on her YouTube channel, Debina Decodes, giving a glimpse of her husband-actor Gurmeet Choudhary's low-key birthday celebrations at their home. However, she is now being slammed by netizens for allegedly 'ignoring' her in-laws in the video. Many called her 'disrespectful' and cricised her for letting Gurmeet’s parents stand instead of asking them to seat next to their son.
While Debina continued sitting on the sofa next to Gurmeet, his mother jokingly said, "Jis maa ne isko janam diya, usko koi mubarak nahi." After cutting the cake, Gurmeet offered a slice to his parents, and someone recording the video asked him to take their blessings by touching their feet.

Soon after the video went live on YouTube, she was slammed. A user in the comments section wrote, "I literally felt bad for aunty uncle .. She is trying to be a role model however couldn’t move a bit to let her in laws sit on the couch. Didn’t even asked once out of respect… So irritating "
Another user cited Sambhavna Seth as an example, commenting, "Sambhavna Seth se sikho ki kaise in-laws ki respect kiya jata hai." A third user added, "Debina thinks she's very modern....but she lacks basic etiquettes.....so disrespectful..."
