The makers of Daaku Maharaaj, starring Nandamuri Balakrishna (NBK) and Urvashi Rautela, released a new song titled Dabidi Dibidi on Thursday (January 2) as part of the film's promotional run-up. However, shortly after its release, the song faced backlash online, with netizens criticising its choreography and labeling it 'cringe-worthy'.

Featuring NBK and Urvashi, the high-energy track is composed by Thaman S and sung by Thaman and Vagdevi. Despite its potential as a party anthem, the song has drawn criticism for its suggestive and vulgar dance choreography.

Adding to the controversy, a section of social media users also expressed discontent over the glaring age gap between the lead pair. NBK, a 64-year-old actor-politician, stars opposite the 30-year-old Urvashi. This has sparked debates about the casting choice.

Reacting to the 'obscene' dance steps, a user wrote on X, "Who approves such choreography? Why do actors agree to do such steps? Extremely CRINGE."

"Vulgarity in songs is what makes these movies earn extra bucks," wrote another user.

Dabidi Dibidi has been choreographed by Sekhar Master. The makers have not reacted to the criticism yet.

Several social media users have also criticised one of the producers of the film, Naga Vamsi, who was recently embroiled in a controversy for allegedly 'disrespecting veteran film producer Boney Kapoor during an interview.

Naga Vamsi had faced backlash on social media for telling Boney Kapoor, "One thing, sir, you have to accept this. It might sound really harsh. We, South Indians, have changed the way you [Bollywood] look at cinema. Because, you guys [Bollywood], were stuck in making films for Bandra and Juhu. You witnessed a change with Baahubali, RRR, Animal and Jawan."

The film also stars Bobby Deol, Pragya Jaiswal, Shraddha Srinath, and Chandhini Chowdary among others. Written and directed by Bobby Kolli and produced by Naga Vamsi S and Sai Soujanya Under Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas, the film is all set to hit the big screens on January 12.
