Nearly two years after the official announcement, Don 3, starring Ranveer Singh in the lead, is reportedly set to go on floors. And amid rumours that Kriti Sanon might be the female lead in the highly-anticipated film, the actress dropped a major hint about it while wishing Ranveer on his birthday.
As Ranveer turned 40 on Sunday, Kriti took to her Instagram stories to pen a note for the actor, which read, "Happiest Birthday @ranveersingh !! Your energy, your hardwork, your crazzyy talent and the love you keep spreading has always inspired me!! Shine on rockstar! (sic)."
But it was the last line that grabbed eyeballs. "P.S. looking forward to working with you soon! (sic)," she concluded the note, seemingly confirming that the reports about her being a part of Don 3 were indeed true.
Kiara Advani or Kriti Sanon in Don 3?
After Don 3 was announced in August 2023, reports had gone viral that Kiara Advani will be seen playing the female lead in the Farhan Akhtar directorial. A few months later, the makers also officially announced Kiara's role in the film.
However, Don 3 was indiscriminately delayed, and in February this year, Kiara announced her pregnancy with Sidharth Malhotra. Soon after her pregnancy announcements, reports surfaced that the actress has decided to step back from Don 3 to focus on her mommy duties.
And it was then that Kriti's name popped up in the picture. The actress, who is at the peak of her career, was spotted visiting Akhtar's office, and a few days ago, she was even seen suppressing a smile when paps called her "Lady Don".

It was on August 9 when Don 3 was officially announced with a video of Ranveer Singh in his anti-hero avatar. However, the promo received flak online as netizens drew the comparisons between Ranveer and actors Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan who were earlier associated with the cult franchise.
But Farhan had penned a special note for the film which read, "The time has now come to take the legacy of Don forward and joining us in this new interpretation will be an actor whose talent and versatility I have long admired. We hope that you will show him the love you have so graciously and generously shown to Mr Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan."
