Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan shared a heartwarming remark about his longtime co-star Deepika Padukone at the World Audio Visual and Entertainment Summit (WAVES) 2025 held in Mumbai on Thursday (May 1). The actor, who has worked with Deepika in blockbuster films like Om Shanti Om, Chennai Express, Pathaan and Jawan, expressed his admiration not just for her as a performer, but for the new chapter she has embraced in her personal life - motherhood.
Speaking at the event, Shah Rukh said, "I think the role she is going to play the best, Inshallah, now is that of a mother of Dua. I think she is really really going to be a wonderful mother."
In the now-viral videos, Deepika is seen blushing soon after SRK praised her, clearly touched by his gesture. The Dunki actor's comment referred to Deepika and Ranveer Singh's baby girl who was born on September 8, 2024.
The candid moment took place during a panel discussion at WAVES 2025, where the two actors were present among a host of industry dignitaries.
Shah Rukh and Deepika spoke about what it feels like being an outsider in the film industry. Interestingly, it was moderated by Karan Johar, who has been tagged as the 'flagbearer of nepotism' and has often faced allegations of not promoting outsiders.
Fans of the duo, who have loved their chemistry on screen for years, took to social media to re-share their videos. "This is so beautiful. King Khan knows how to make every moment memorable," one fan wrote on X.
Another wrote, "A conversation full of warmth and admiration."
WAVES 2025, organised under the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, brought together major names from film, music, and OTT to celebrate India's growing presence in global entertainment.
Other celebrities who attended the inaugural event earlier today are Aamir Khan, Akshay Kumar, Mohanlal, Rajinikanth, Vicky Kaushal, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Saif Ali Khan, Jackie Shroff, Manushi Chhillar, Shaan, AR Rahman, Chiranjeevi, Karan Johar, SS Rajamouli, Anupam Kher, Anil Kapoor, Amruta Khanvilkar, Madhur Bhandarkar, Farhan Akhtar, Boney Kapoor and others.
