Chhaava is undoubtedly one of the biggest releases of the year. The movie starring Vicky Kaushal and Rahmika Mandanna is a biopic on Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's son, Chhatrapati Shambhaji Maharaj. The trailer of the film has surely created a good pre-release buzz, however, the songs composed by AR Rahman have got grabbed the attention of the audiences much.
The movie is all set to release tomorrow (February 14, 2025), and the advance bookings have been quite strong. According to Sacnilk, the day 1 advance booking is quite good, and till now Chhaava has already collected Rs. 9.23 crore gross (without block booking).
If the advance booking for day 1 is so good, then of course, we can expect that the movie will surely take a doublke digit opening. Still today's half day is left, and there will be on the spot bookings tomorrow, so the first collection can be between Rs. 15-18 crore. But, if the evening shows pick up, we can expect the first day collection to be around Rs. 20 crore or more than that.
The biggest opening for a Vicky Kaushal film has been Rs. 8.62 crore (Bad Newz). But, that will be broken by Chhaava now as the film is all set to give the actor his biggest opening.
Reportedly, Chhaava is made on a budget of Rs. 130 crore, so not just a good opening, the film needs to keep up the momentum at the box office over the weekend and the weekdays as well. There are no biggies lined up to release in the next few weeks, so Chhaava will have a good window to collect at the box office.
Maddock Films had a fantastic 2024, and they started the year on a good note with Sky Force. So, now all eyes are on Chhaava.
