Television actor and Bigg Boss 18 winner Karan Veer Mehra was severely criticised for posting a poetry recitation video condemning the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir, that killed 26. Netizens felt that the actor was "overacting" in the video, and some even accused him of using glycerin for fake tears.
In the video, Karan Veer can be seen wearing a black shirt and reciting a poem written by Ashutosh Rana in front of the camera. "Sawaal toh bas ek hi hai, kya Allah ne mandir toda tha ya Ram ne masjid toda tha? Baat diya iss dharti ko. Koi Hindu hai, koi Musalman, koi Sikh toh koi Issai. Bas humne insaan na hone ki hai kasam khayi," a part of the poem said.
As soon as he shared the post, netizens expressed their disappointment over the actor making a dramatic video even for an incident like the Pahalgam attack. "Pathetic and disgusting. These people are scums literally, honestly should be cancelled (sic)," a user commented under his video, while another questioned, "Is he giving audition?" "I even feel he used glycerin to give this performance," another added. "Cheap to the core!," a netizen lashed out.
Karan Veer has not reacted to the backlash.
Earlier, actor Shoaib Ibrahim was criticised for promoting his new vlog while informing fans that he was safe after the attack in Pahalgam.
For those unversed, 26 people were killed in Pahalgam by armed terrorists on April 22 in broad daylight, leaving the entire nation shocked and numb. Several celebs including Akshay Kumar, Sanjay Dutt, Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif, Raveena Tandon and others condemned the attack and called for swift retaliation.

While the Pakistan army has distanced itself from the attack, terrorist outfit named The Resistance Front has claimed responsibility for it.
