Filmmaker Boney Kapoor, who recently turned 69, opened up on his love for wife, late actress Sridevi, and stated that though he does get attracted to females around him, his passion for Sridevi will never go away. Kapoor also mentioned how he never cheated on Sridevi in all those years they were together.
Boney spoke to ABP Live about the struggles both Sridevi and him faced when they first got together, and how despite belonging to different cultures and having opposite personalities, they managed to finally get on the same page.
"Initially, everything is flowery; you want to do anything for her. But after seven years, you truly get to know your partner; their likes and dislikes. They feel that they have the freedom to truly express themselves. For the first seven years, they just bear everything, but after seven years, especially after the kids are older and the women realise they have more power over you, then they reveal their true feelings," he stated.
He went on to say, "Opposites attract. But temperamentally opposite people get closer day by day."
Kapoor also declared his love for Sridevi and stated that he would love her till his final breath. "We were inseparable. I was in love with her, I am in love with her, and I will be in love with her till my dying day. When the most sought-after beauty, when the most sought-after personality becomes convinced to spend the rest of her life with you, what greater joy could there be?" he gushed.
"I never cheated on her, I never had to look here or there. She was my everything. Even today, I may have friends, I may get attracted to females around me, but as far as she’s concerned, the passion and love will never go away," he added.
Sridevi and Boney Kapoor got married in 1996, and became parents to two kids, Janhvi Kapoor and Khushi Kapoor. They were happily together until the day Sridevi tragically passed away after drowning in a bathtub in their hotel room in 2018.
