Actor Zahan Kapoor, legendary actor Shashi Kapoor's grandson, is currently receiving praise for his performance in Vikramaditya Motwane's Black Warrant. The prison drama released earlier this month and it received rave reviews from critics as well as the audience.
Zahan gained recognition for his work after Black Warrant, however, not many people are aware that he made his film debut with Hansal Mehta's Faraaz in 2022. The film was based on the 2016 terrorist attack in a Dhaka cafe.
Unfortunately, Zahan's Bollywood entry went unnoticed as the film failed to make a mark. Reacting to his debut film's failure, Zahan told Hindustan Times, "Everybody wants to make a good film, a successful film, and nobody sets out to make one that doesn't work. Failure should not really go to your heart where it disappoints you."

"Faraaz is considered a failure by many, which I do not consider it as at all, I think it's successful in its intention. But it should not go to my heart that because of Faraaz I have not become the talk of the town and I am so disappointed that my first film has not make a bang," the 32-year-old actor said.
Faraaz released in February 2023. It also starred veteran actor Paresh Rawal's son Aditya Rawal. The film was produced by Anubhav Sinha and Bhushan Kumar, Sahil Saigal, Sakshi Bhatt and Mazahir.
Zahan is happy with the kind of response Black Warrant has received. During the same interview, he also admitted that while the project could have gone the usual violent space as it is a common thing on OTT, he feels proud that the makers focused on the emotional part of it, which worked in their favour.
