The teaser of the controversial film, Bad Girl, produced by Vetri Maaran and presented by Anurag Kashyap, was removed from YouTube after the order of Madras High Court. The court had ordered the removal of the teaser from YouTube citing the bold portrayal of children and teens in the film.
The Tamil coming-of-age drama, directed by Varsha Bharath, courted controversy ever since the teaser was released online. It first made headlines after right-wing groups slammed the makers for what they termed as "negative stereotyping" of Brahmins.
The teaser also showed a Brahmin school girl discussing sex and relationships, and this did not go well with a section of the audience. Taking cognisance of the same, Justice P Dhanabal of Madras HC said, "If the children see the said contents of the videos, certainly it will spoil the minds of the children."

Bad Girl delves into the life of a school-going teenager navigating societal expectations and her own desires. The teaser of the film shows her ambition to find a boyfriend as she strives to live life on her own terms while facing criticism for her choices. The story takes an intriguing turn when she begins a budding relationship with a boy, however, she is shamed for it.
The teaser further shows how she becomes the person she always wanted to be after stepping away from her home.

Bad Girl stars Shanthi Priya, Saranya Ravichandran, Hridhu Haroon, TeeJay Arunasalam, and Sashank Bommireddipalli are also a part of the film. It received the NETPAC Award after its world premiere at the International Film Festival Rotterdam.
