Legendary singer Asha Bhosle's fans were left in shock after a viral Facebook post falsely claimed that the iconic singer had passed away. The post, shared by a user named Shabana Shaikh, featured a garlanded image of Bhosle along with a misleading caption announcing her death.
Reacting to the baseless rumours, Asha's son Anand Bhosle dismissed the claims and told ETimes, "It's untrue."

"Famous singer Asha Bhosle passed away – a musical era ends (01 July 2025)," the post read.
A few days ago, the legendary singer attended the screening of Rekha's classic 1981 film Umrao Jaan in Mumbai, which has now been re-released in theatres after 44 years. Asha Bhosle had originally sung the iconic song Yeh Kya Jagah Hai Doston for the film.
At the screening, the 91-year-old singer attempted to sing the song once again, though she appeared to struggle. Rekha, moved by the moment, hugged her from behind and was seen offering her support. Asha also joked, "Mera gala dabba rahi hai (She is choking me)," which made Rekha laugh.
Asha also celebrated her husband, late music composer Rahul Dev Burman, on his 85th birth anniversary, June 27.

She told IANS, "I never had any difficulty tuning with him. I never faced any trouble during recordings. I used to sing his songs very easily, but those who come now will find it difficult. They won’t be able to sing the songs that I have sung."
Asha married Rahul in 1980; it was her second marriage. She had earlier married Ganpatrao Bhosle in 1949, and they divorced in 1960
