Actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's sister-in-law Shrima Rai issued a statement on Thursday after she was trolled for receiving flowers from Shweta Bachchan amid rumours of the actress' separation from Abhishek Bachchan. Shrima, who is a social media influencer herself, also stated that she never used anyone's name to establish her career.

Indirectly addressing the chatter around Shweta sending her flowers, Shrima took to her Instagram on Thursday to share a note which read, "Facts. My birthday was November 21 and as usual flowers were sent. I thanked everyone with a shout out (sic)".

She then went on to say, "Before I became a blogger/content creator I was a banker in Wealth Management for several years. I have also been a Gladrags Mrs. India Globe 2009. Post 2017, I transitioned into blogging. I have NEVER tried to open any business with anyone's name. I am clarifying things because these are facts."

"I have built an independent career as a content creator for years on my own and as a woman I find it in poor taste of anyone to try to tear that fact down. For this my husband, mother in law and parents can vouch for that," she added.

"As a mother, it is extremely important to me that facts are clear when my name is involved," she concluded.

While her friends and well-wishers hyped her up in the comments section, a user enquired, "Hope al ok?" To that, Shrima replied, "Just clarifying some news that came out had some misinformation."

Shrima was recently in news after her old comments related to Aishwarya had gone viral online. Netizens felt that she shaded the actress when she responded to a user who said that Shrima never shared photos of Aishwarya on her social media.

"You can head over to her page to find all the images of her and there you will find solely shots of them and not a single one of us. That should satisfy you (sic)," Shrima wrote.

Meanwhile, Aishwarya made headline on Thursday after she attended an event in Dubai where she seemingly dropped 'Bachchan' from her statement, further fuelling the divorce rumours with Abhishek Bachchan.
