Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has made a stunning return to the 78th Cannes Film Festival at the French Riviera. Unlike her 2024 appearances that left fans disappointed, this year the actress captivated everyone with her regal and elegant avatar. The 51-year-old actress flaunted her desi avatar, draped in an ivory Banarasi saree designed by Manish Malhotra, perfectly blending tradition with royal elegance.
Aishwarya also proudly flaunted her sindoor, putting to rest all the divorce rumours swirling around her and Abhishek Bachchan. The actress paid tribute to Indian handloom craftsmanship, wearing a stunning ivory, rose gold, and silver ensemble. She draped a handwoven Kadwa ivory Banarasi saree complemented by a sheer white tissue dupatta, beautifully edged with intricate real gold and silver zardozi embroidery.
For accessories, Aishwarya paired her look with heirloom jewellery from Manish Malhotra, featuring over 500 carats of Mozambique rubies and uncut diamonds set in 18k gold. She completed the stunning ensemble with striking ruby statement rings, adding a regal touch.
The actress wore a long-sleeved blouse adorned with golden embroidery along the borders, paired with a matching organza dupatta to add extra drama to her look. For makeup, Aishwarya chose her signature straight hair and bold red lips. She posed gracefully for the paparazzi, waving, offering a namaste, and blowing flying kisses.
However, this time Aishwarya’s daughter, Aaradhya Bachchan, was not seen accompanying her mother, despite usually being by her side at such events.
On the work front, Aishwarya was last seen in Mani Ratnam's Ponniyin Selvan 2 alongside Jayam Ravi, Sobhita Dhulipala and Aishwarya Lekshmi. It served as a sequel to Ponniyin Selvan: I and was directed by Mani Ratnam.
Aishwarya is yet to announce a new project.
