Actress Ishika Taneja, known for working in the 2017 film Indu Sarkar, has now quit showbiz to embark on the path of spirituality and promote Sanatan Dharma. The actress recently visited the Maha Kumbh Mela and took a holy dip, and while at it, said that women were not meant to "dance in tiny clothes".

Earlier, in January, Ishika took Guru Diksha in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, under the guidance of Shankaracharya Swami Sadanand Saraswati Ji Maharaj. She then visited the Maha Kumbh on January 29 and sought blessings, and while at it, she vowed to promote the Sanatan Dharma.

Ishika told Aaj Tak, "I am a proud Sanatani. I am connected with the spirit of service. There are divine powers in Maha Kumbh. The biggest achievement of my life is that I have received Guru Diksha from Shankaracharya ji. Having a Guru has given me direction in life."

The former actress called her journey "floating", and said that she has finally "returned home" after working in movies and music videos. "Women have not been made to dance wearing tiny clothes. They are made to serve Sanatan," she opined.

Ishika also stated that her turning into a sadhvi was no publicity stunt or promotional gimmick and that she does not want to return to her 'old life' as well. "If I get a chance, I'll produce movies, but in those too, I will promote Sanatan Dharma," she said.

Ishika Taneja was crowned as Miss World Tourism in 2018 and in 2016, she received the Rashtrapati Award in the 100 Women Achievers of India category by the then-President Pranab Mukherjee.

She also starred in the web series Hadh, which was produced and written by Vikram Bhatt.

Besides, Ishika holds the Guinness World Record of doing 60 full airbrush makeups in 60 minutes on 60 models.

She has also been an active name when it comes to help rape and acid attack victims, orphans and senior citizens.
