Due to the pandemic, the National Film Awards are delayed. In 2024, movies released in 2022 were given the awards, and now, this year, the films that were released in 2023 will be honoured. It is not yet revealed when the 71st National Film Awards will be announced, but according to a report in Bollywood Hungama, the announcement might happen in the next 48 hours. According to the report, Rani Mukerji and Vikrant Massey are tough contenders to win the awards.
A source told the portal, “Vikrant Massey’s performance in 12th Fail is getting him the National Award. It is final. For the National Award for Best Actress, Rani Mukerji is a very strong contender. There are two actresses from the South also in the reckoning. But for Best Actor, it is Vikrant.”
Vikrant in 12th Fail and Rani in Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway have surely given one of the best performances of their career. They have already won multiple awards for their fantastic performance, and now, if they win the National Award, it will be just perfect.
Rani, who has been in the industry for more than 25 years, has given some fantastic performances in movies like Black, No One Killed Jessica, Mardaani, Hichki, and others. But, till now, she has not won a National Award. So, if she wins a National Award for Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway, it is something that the actress truly deserves.
Meanwhile, Vikrant in 12th Fail surprised one and all with his performance. He was simply excellent, so if he gets the National Award for Best Actor, we won’t be surprised.
Rani Mukerji & Vikrant Massey Upcoming Movies
Rani Mukerji has Mardaani 3 and King lined up. While the former is slated to release in February next year, the release date of King is not yet officially announced.
Meanwhile, Vikrant has movies like Romeo, Yaar Jigri, and Talaakhon Mein Ek lined up. He will reportedly also be seen in Dostana 2, but the film is not yet officially announced.
